Blog — Janet and Noel's WordPress

Janet and Noel’s WordPress is a blog I created with team member Noel Lashbrook. We set up the blog using WordPress, an open-source content management system. Then, we wrote and edited our own helps for beginner users.

XSL-FO — My XML Cookbook
Created in the course ETWR 2478 - XML and Structured Authoring for Information Specialists
My XML Cookbook is an XSL-FO document I created using Oxygen XML Editor. The 5-page document contains a cover page and three recipes.

DocBook — Setting Up Your Power Mac G4
Created in the course ETWR 2478 - XML and Structured Authoring for Information Specialists
Setting Up Your Power Mac G4 is a DocBook document I created using Oxygen XML Editor. The book contains a cover page, a table of contents, and two chapters.

Voyage Galápagos is a booklet I produced using Adobe InDesign CS3.

Movie Ad — The Day After Tomorrow
Created in the course ARTC 1402 - Digital Imaging I
For this document, I used an existing movie ad as a template for my creation. I modeled the movie ad for The Day After Tomorrow with images of Austin landmarks: the Capitol building and the downtown skyline. Finally, I saved the movie ad with standard specifications for the following purposes: a poster, a print ad, and a Web splash screen.

Flash Movie — Turtle Hatchlings
Created in the course IMED 1445 - Interactive Digital Media I
Turtle Hatchlings is a 20-second flash movie I created using Adobe Flash CS4. In the movie, three turtle hatchlings make their way from the beach to their new ocean home.

Online Help — Using GanttProject
Created in the course ETWR 2374 - Online Helps and Help-Authoring Tools
Using GanttProject is an online-help document I created with Adobe RoboHelp 8. I wrote and edited overviews and task-oriented help topics. In planning and producing the help, I relied on writing, editing, design, and book-building principles that I learned throughout my studies at Austin Community College.
